Salvadore D is a surprising little place hidden in the Winn Dixie shopping plaza at Sunset and 87th.  Its been there for years and is considered to be one of the finer Italian spots in town, certainly outside of the Gables and Downtown.

The service is good, the place dark and with an upscale neighborhood feel  We st at the bar, which is nicely located in the back and had good tequila, great bread and a really nice meal.

For me the menu leaves a bit to be desired.  i feel like they are very expensive and something is missing.  It certainly isnt as good as Vialetto or at all on par with Il Mulino or Il fabiano, but if you want to stay in the area you won’t do better.
