One of my favorite things is Ballet.  Dance I like but its too general a description.  I like the flow, and the beauty of traditional ballet.  Since moving to NY my thrill is ABT, American Ballet Theatre, and as a Patron I received an invitation to visit the studio and watch parts of two rehearsals.  WOW!!!

Perhaps 50 people gathered in a relaxing room at the ABT offices on 18th Street and Broadway.  We were divided into groups who then went on separately to two separate rehearsal rooms.  We were in group A and headed first to watch the corps de Ballet rehearse for La Bayadère, a ballet I do not know but now truly want to see.  Then we were whisked off to see Stella Abrera and Gillian Murphy practice there solos for variations under the tutelage of Irina Kolpakova, who, at 85, was jumping and dancing and showing them how its done.
