Having little to less than no idea what Evan Hansen was about other than teenage angst I walked into the theatre a blank slate. I hadn’t previewed the music or heard the story so I got to fully enjoy the experience of being taken down a road to a place I didn’t see coming. And it was heartbreaking. I felt every ounce of pain, every helpless parental moment, every sad, desperate and lonely moment. And I loved it.
What a treat to be taken away by a sad story but to feel so good going there. To the actors I applaud, every word I heard and understood but also felt. No wonder this show is a hit.
