Bernhardt/Hamlet

The first play of the season for The Roundabout Theatre Company and I would give it a 7.5.  Janet McTeer stars as Sarah Bernhardt, theatre star, who takes the bold step of playing Hamlet on the stage.   The story is nice to know and the cast was convincing in their roles. Yet, we both slept through part of act 1 and were thankfully more engaged in act 2.  It was entertaining enough and the playwright had a talk back after which was semi- interesting.  Let’s say I liked it enough to stay but not enough to recommend.
