Socrates Sculpture Park/ Noguchi/The ferry

It was a big day – We walked down to 34th street had Mexican at Baby Bo’s – good but not wonderful and then onto the ferry.   Theride took us to Long I stand City and Roosevelt Island before landing us in Astoria where we disembarked and walked the ten minutes along the river to the Socrates Sculpture Garden and then on to The Noguchi .

Noguchi was interesting and I loved the room of globes and some of the big heavy rock sculpture but it was the sculpture park that got me.  The artist were busy creating right there in the space for an exhibit that is opening soon.   We were able to see one working and discussing his work and the layout for  a few others.  I learned that the park gives artists space and supplies to create and on our way out was a pop-up Momma Station.. look at the pictures, they are fairly self explanatory.
