It was a hunter gatherer day. I had no motivation but to get a good salami and some salad. perhaps we could also get something sweet. So we ran around to store after store, finding nothing satisfactory until we would up at Loyalist market.

It was near Matthews, an entirely new part of town for us, and though the service couldn’t have been slower and less competent we were given a few tastes and found something called Lomo which is perhaps a smoked pork product and very good.

It could be that the slow service was deliberate because as we scanned the cases filled with specialty beers, wines and kombucha we found some gorgeous chocolates from JF Chocolat.

It was smooth and chocolaty but still not good or satisfying. They make a number of varieties and have a stand at the Matthews farmers market so should we be lucky enough to return to Charlotte, we will give that market a try.

The shop also carried sweet girl cookies which we had tried from the festival of the arts and weren’t thrilled with, but then again, we have had some really amazing cookies so not being thrilled doesn’t mean they were bad, they just weren’t the best.

and a competition for the most fun thing we saw today

Blown up bunnies………………………………………………………………………..Or a fire hydrant in a dog run?
